It had been a few days since he had first found himself in this time and place. It was still all really strange to him and he was slowly getting settled in. At least now he had warmer clothes and shoes thanks to that lady who bumped into him after he arrived. She was nice and all but Nathan wasn't used to that all and needed to get away for a while, leaving her to search for whatever she was after when she came across him.
So Nathan had taken a walk, just exploring and trying to understand this world better. So far it seemed like those who created him and Torchwood were not a part of this universe and he hadn't bother to ask anyone one because he didn't want to end up causing trouble. He stopped walking and looked up at the night sky, wondering why this happened to him and what was going to happen next. When Babylon had created and trained him, it was only to be one thing, a soldier. The perfect warrior for this cause, the first of many to come so he was pretty much the test subject who they did whatever they wanted to.
So it wasn't like he really knew much about the outside world or what to do within it. Nathan glanced around the people who seemed to coming and going to the clubs that were around. A tilt of his head was given as he looked at one of the clubs and wondering what was going on inside of them. Finally, he walked into one of the clubs, which had a few people in there. He sat down at the bar and the man who worked behind asked him if he wanted a soda when he walked over a few moments later. Nathan gave a nod of his head before looking around again, the music was a little too loud for his liking but the lights were nice he thought. It didn't take him all that long to use his ability of adjusting his senses to make his hearing a little less sensitive so the music was easier on him.
When the soda was placed in front of him, he pulled out some of that paper that Sarah had called money and placed it on the bar before taking a sip of his soda.

What was he doing here again? This...planet. Again. John couldn't even blame his wonky vortex manipulator this time, because that was wrong. He'd fixed it, and the pair of them were getting along just fine once again, after the...evening...with Eye Candy. Maybe he was back on this planet again to look for that human. It wouldn't be for Jack, he wasn't that stupid....though, he had turned up and wasn't sure of the date. Or of the place. Or of the actual time, come to think of it.
But no, John wasn't stupid at all. He was highly intelligent. He'd already figured out that he needed money in this place, in order to buy drinks. He did not want another meeting with angry bikers. That would not be a very good way to spend his time.
That was why he was in this club - for money. Oh, not in that way, though he had sold his body to get money before without batting an eyelish, enjoyed it quite a bit as well, but he wasn't in the mood tonight. And wasn't that an odd thought. No he was just picking pockets tonight - he quite fancies sleeping somewhere later. Perhaps he'd look into getting money for that later.
It was irritating, really. How he so often landed here, on this planet, near to where Jack was. It was as if Jack was calling him, once more, and like the good little dog he'd been back then, John was running to answer the call. Well, that was stupid. Last time he'd seen Jack had been just after the incident with Gray, which had...sucked. Majorly.
He moved smoothly to the music, his lithe body swaying nicely, just to see how many of the human's around him he could get to watch him, how many heart beats he could get to speed up, and how many hands he could get to fall away from their pockets, leaving him open to grab at their cash. Petty little theif that he was. He was gravitating slowly towards the bar though - a drink was in order. It was a shame he didn't have a client tonight, he could have just stuck the price of the drink onto the tab, but oh well. Begger's couldn't be choosers, not that he was a begger, just slightly stuck on a planet he didn't like and a planet he didn't understand. He could use the money he'd nicked as well though, he guessed.
Though, actually paying for something was a practise John hadn't done in ages. Could be quite...amusing, maybe?
Actually...when he stopped at the bar, glancing around out of habit, he noticed that there was plenty of money laid out on the top of it. Looks like people paid for the drinks in that manner now, which was nice for him. He got a free drink, and...A quick glance in the direction of the face behind the big pile of money...Oh, nice. Company of a cute guy for a while. Worth a shot.
"I'll take a JD,"[/b] he added smoothly as soon as the barman's hand came out to take the money. He was met with raised eyebrows, but just slipped into the seat beside the kid and flashed a smile. He'd get the drink, paid for by the kid's money, then offskie after pretending to the barman that he knew the kid, and they were friends. Perfect plan.

His mind kept drifting back to where he had come from… Why he was created, when the aliens had come… Torchwood was more than ready to work with them. The cell had been designed to keep from being able to escape but as well as to stop from hearing or seeing anything. The room had one door with the small window big enough for them to drop in food now and then. He was suppose to be Babylon’s elite soldier, the one they were going to create an army from. However, that rouge group within Torchwood, which took him to that cell, took down the group. Where he was tortured for almost three months before they left him alone for a long time. He wasn’t sure how many days, years passed.
Then the attacks came, the building was hit and somehow, he ended up here. He wasn’t sure but from what he had seen, it was almost ten years behind the time he came from. Everything was so different here. No signs of a global war that had everyone on guard, no threat from space. It was like this place was at peace compared to what he had known. His body shivered when he thought back to the cell again. Those thoughts were pushed aside as he moved away from looking at the bar to those around him.
With all these people around, he felt so nervous… That one of them would notice that he wasn’t human. That he wasn’t like them. Nathan wasn’t sure where else to go, it wasn’t like he had a place to stay or go. It was warm in here and that is what he liked about this place the most. It was bright, out of the cold and noisy. He had turned back around to the bar and took a drink of the soda. It was sweet, had a lemon lime taste to it. Really different than the water he was used to drinking and the bubbles tickled his mouth.
When it came to money, he had no idea what it was. Only what that woman had told him and how to use it, he wasn’t sure how much the soda was or drinks were. It was almost like releasing a five year old into the world and letting them try to get through it by themselves. But with him, all he knew was those things that had to do with fighting, war and the way he was treated. Stick in him in the woods with the basics and he could live there. Stick in him in the middle of the city and he was shell-shocked.
His eyes looked over at the man who asked for a JD, he was really confused by what a JD was but didn’t say anything. Nathan flashed that signature smile of his, the one that melted hearts, which was flirty but warm at the same time. It was a tired echo of the smile of his DNA donor. The man he didn’t know about, the man he didn’t know was in this universe also. Had he known Torchwood was here, he would have been on edge and scared… When it came to Torchwood, he knew of the female in charge, and those five under her. The Captain Jack from his reality, was on the run with his three members, something he knew barely little of. But was trying to forget now that he was far away from his universe and all that.

John didn't miss the grin that was flashed in his direction. He wished he had though, the moment it entered his eyeline, because it made him freeze. Slowly he turned his head in the direction of the kid, his face an emotionless mask, just looking at him. If John was a simpleton, or perhaps, an idiot, he would have said he'd imagined it. But even when high on drugs, Captain John Hart was not a man who imagined things going on around him (well, unless the drugs were extremely good, in which case he did imagine them, and imagined them willingly, because hey, drugs were cool). But not in a strange place on a planet that hadn't even developed the Interstellar hop drive, and where his blaster's looked incredibly futuristic.
That was Jack's smile. He should know it better than his own - those five years were burned into his very being. But how. Well. Come to think of it, he didn't know the date. It was perfectly possible for Jack to have a kid here, wasn't it? That smile though, and...damn it, blue eyes. John scowled, mentally, but externally, flashed a dashing grin of his own back to the kid, swivelling his stool a little so it was closer.
Jack's kid or not, John was confused, and he hated that. He'd find out what the hell was going on. "Oh, sorry...Thought you were someone I knew for a moment. You don't mind me joining you though, do you luv?"

When the other man looked at him with that slow turn of his head, Nathan tensed up a little bit. He was hoping to go unnoticed, that he could just sit here and drink the soda without being bothered. He wasn’t use to talking, to have someone there to answer him back. Himself spent the last few years in a cell with no one to talk to. Now here he was in a place where people seemed friendly and more than willing to talk to each other among things. Yet this man beside him had no emotion on his face, it was bit surprising to him.
When the other man flashed that dashing grin, he swallowed hard. Trying his best to show that grin didn’t have affect on him when it clearly did. Though Nathan wasn’t sure of the feelings he was feeling at the moment or why his heart was racing a little. No one taught him about things like love and sex, no those were not apart of the lessons of survival and how to kill someone and those between, so he was truly clueless as to why he was feeling like he was at the moment.
Nathan looked younger than he was by a couple of years. If he were a normal human child he would have been seventeen. But being grown in the contentment unit until his body reached the age of six, he was really twenty-two. It didn’t help that his body could repair any damage that he would get within a couple of days, sometimes hours depending on how bad it was. When the man said he was sorry, he gave a little nod of his head. ”Doubt there is anyone like me here.” He said quietly, not really wanting the other man to hear that part.
He gave a little smile, his cheeks blushing a tiny bit. ”Have nothing else going on at the moment. Do you mind me asking who you thought I was?” Hoping the other man wouldn't mind, he just wanted to know a little more about things. Nathan loved to learn new things and experience them. But there was more his wanting to know other than that. He knew where his DNA came from, he had seen the photos when he taken his file one day when the doctors were not paying attention.

John tilted his head to the side, reaching out almot absently with one hand to pick up the bottle being pushed over the bar top towards him. Perhaps he should have asked for shots again. One of everything...and that made him grin slightly. Oh, that had been a fun reunion. Shame everything went, y'know, to crap after that really. He'd like to do it again though, the whole meeting Jack again. Give it a few hundred years maybe.
"If you mean someone as young as you kid? No, probably not," If John had been human, or a resident of this planet, or even versed in the ways of Earth at all, he would have perhaps asked how the kid had managed to get in. But...he wasn't any of those things, and so he didn't actually notice anything like that. Didn't think about it at all, in fact, in the way that, it seemed, only he was able to get away with.
And oh, he made the kid blush! John couldn't help but grin again at that - making people blush was fun. Alright, so human's didn't have tentacles or anything even remotely exciting, or anything he hadn't done a million times before, but they were awfully cute. Rather endearing, if you chose to think of it in that way. "Not sure whether that's meant to be a compliment or a carefully disguised insult there, sweetcheeks," he said with a chuckle, before raising the bottle to his lips. Hmm...alright, so alcohol was crap here. Didn't even give him a buzz...but this one wasn't so bad. Even tasted quite nice. "Hmm? Oh, just my ex. Keep running into him in these parts. Getting kinda predictable, y'know."[/b]

It was rather easy to get for him. Using some skills that the Babylon Organization had taught him how to use but also some of his charm to do that. He worked the bouncer and then the bar tender to get what he wanted. Then he just faded into the background, trying not to get noticed but since this man was sitting there talking with him, he had failed at the not getting noticed part. Then it dawned on him that he almost gave away that he wasn’t truly human and he wasn’t sure how these people would take to him. The last thing he wanted was to find out there was a Torchwood here and end up in something like he had before.
Nathan couldn’t handle being in another cell or anything like that. Not after having a taste of this freedom, the outside world. ”Yeah, lets go with that one.” He glanced over at the other male for a moment. ”Even though I am not really a kid…” He said, trailed off. Not really sure how far he should even go into things and he glanced back down at the bar for a moment. Staring at the can of the soda before taking a deep breath.
It wasn’t hard to get him to blush after all Nathan hadn’t had much human contact or interaction outside of training or torture. He was just a science project to those around him, a weapon. But here, people didn’t know that and they were treating him as if he was one of them. That was something he was coming to like and enjoy. ”Why don’t you stick around to find out then?” There was a playful grin given as he looked back at the other male. Wondering how much he could get away with him, playing around like this. Nathan was starting to relax and get comfortable around this man and thus his flirting side was coming out more. Though Nathan did like the idea of being called sweetcheeks, he was pretty sure it was a nickname and one of the first he was called that was rather nice.
”Now I am the one who is not sure if that is a good thing or not.” He turned and faces the other man fully, holding out his hand to the other. ”Nathan Hawk and who are you?” He said, showing a smile to the other. Nathan had pulled the name out of his head, never really having a name before and he didn’t want to go by what the other’s called him.

The kid fancied himself to be something different? Well, John wasn't too sure about whether to take that as a joke or not. There was the matter of Jack Harkness's smile and Jack's eyes being possessed by the kids, so if he was some relation of the man who had, basically, stolen then broken John's heart, he probably was different from everyone else in this room. Although, if they were related, maybe he was fully this time human. A kid in this time. If John hadn't learnt from the Gray fiasco, he might try to use that, after finding more information. But he'd like to say that his time with Jack was over, for now, until in a couple of hundred years when the bastard would realise that having someone who didn't die as quickly as a human in his life was a good thing.
"You look quite like a kid, kid, but don't knock it. Even if you are different, bet you age like everyone else in here," except himself, of course, because that would be, y'know, weird, "Enjoying looking young while you can. Soon it'll be all wrinkles and grey hairs and no one wanting to slip out back with you for a spot of naughty." He glanced around quickly, with a suddenly rather amused grn. "I fancy quite a few in here have reached that stage."
He raised an eyebrow at that - the kid flirting? And usually humans were so...frigid. Then again, club going humans were a lot looser, but still, the only ones he'd met who even remotely lived up to what he was used to were in Jack's little team. But then again, he was still convinced they were all shagging each other. His suggestion of an orgy hadn't been shot down, after all. Not in so many words. "I might be persuaded," he purred right back, because if the kid could flirt then so could he. That was the rule. Even on frigid little planets like this.
"Oh, don't worry sweetcheeks. He was...is...one hell of a looker. Only meant it in the looking sense, after all..." Then he blinked, looked down at the hand, looked back at the eyes, then slowly extended a hand to shake with him. "Though, suddenly I am not so sure about that. That was freaky - 'and who are you?' definately something he would say." But then he just grinned again, flashing a wink in the kids direction, shaking his hand firmly, with just a little bit more squeeze than was needed, before returning his hold to the bottle. "Captain John Hart. Nice to meet you Nathan Hawk."
