The weather was a little warmer than it had been but there was still snow on the ground and there were a few flakes coming down from the blue gray sky above. However that wouldn’t stop the young man who was running through the park. A pair of dark blue track pants with light blue stripes on the side, a long blue under armor cold gear shirt under a regular black tee shirt was all that he had on besides socks and running shoes. Most would think of him as crazy but doing something like this wasn’t something he had the chance to do.
Nathan found himself loving being outside and this was a good way to keep in shape… well at least work on getting into better shape. The fresh air felt good and he loved feeling the breeze that came through now and then. However, he wasn’t a big fan of the cold but it at least it wasn’t some cold tiny cell. It kept his mind off John and the fact he was missing him and wondering how he was doing. The run also helped to keep his mind off this Captain Jack Harkness and wondering how much they were alike… if he could himself die and come back. That was not something he wanted to test and find out but time could tell him if that were to ever happen.
Three hours had been spent running through the streets and along the park. Unsure of how many miles he ran in that time. Nathan came to a stop in the middle of the park, by some benches. He was bent over, catching his breath for a moment. Not paying attention to his surroundings like he had been trained to. Nathan was trying to move out of the shadow of his reality and to become something different in this reality, to be a better man than what they were trying to make him.
After catching his breath, Nathan looked around taking in the wonderful sights. The trees with light snow cover like the benches and most of the areas in the park. The benches were cleared off though as if someone kept them clean for others to sit on. He brought his hands up and ran them through his slightly wet hair and ruffled it up after running them through. A deep breath was taken wondering if he should go somewhere for a pick up smoothie or head back to the place where he was staying with John… Either way, it had felt good to be out in the outdoors and seeing the winter for the first time in his life. He wondered about what other goodies came with the winter besides the lovely sight of the snow sparkling in the sunlight.
