Story is base of a Star Trek movie. The Next Generation.
There is this ONE rift that is running through time and space. It is HUGE in the future, but medium in the present and small in the past. There was a spike that hit the THREE Earths on those three time periods. It creating a that ONE rift.
The Time Lords realize what it is. END OF ALL TIME AND SPACE.
What they have to do is find a way to be all at the same location and use their Tardis at the same time to reverse the effect. The problem is they don't know when. They have to find a way to communicate between each other. (Imagination)
The Weevils can be HIGHLY involve with this and Torchwood.
So that's what I have for a suggestion. Take it and use it. Do what you will. You can't get more epic.
But you can say the present be the time when they discovered the new horoscope and when the Earth shifted from that Earth quake. You could say that itself had made the rift open. It was a surprise for everyone even the creator the universe. It was not planned but now it needed to be fixed before everything dies. The Daleks would like that!
