I've been really slow with posts lately and I thought I should share the reason why this is happening.
Mostly this is sort of a ramble, but it has been bothering me for sometime. Lately I’ve been losing interest in roleplaying. This is weird because I’ve been up to doing a lot of writing. But as of late getting a reply or starting a thread has been more difficult even if those posts are shorter than a chapter. Yet I look forward to writing the later more often than a post.
I really haven’t been feeling very sure of my posts lately. I just started writing fanfiction a few months back and I feel like I have more freedoms there than roleplaying and I think that may be just it.
This is kind of bad since I currently have two sites that deal with roleplaying and the fact that I’m not really feeling my characters in that way worries me that I may not be up to running a site right now. I’ve been thinking about maybe taking some time off from the rp world but I don’t really have a co-admin that can take care of things in the meantime so this doesn’t seem to be an option right now.
Which brings me to the actual thread. Have any of the other role-players here have felt like this before? If you have what have you done to deal with it?

Aw I hate when that happens! I think it happens to all of us though. The main source of it is normally losing 'touch' with your character - at least for me. Figuring out what they'd say and how they'd think becomes more of a chore than a fun way to write, causing each thing you type to be labored and unpleasant. In the past I've fixed in with a few different techniques. First and the most potent, is rewatch episodes with your character (really only applies for canons - or if your OC is loosely based on a canon from another fandom). It helps sparks that love that caused you to make the character in the first place. Another option is fan-videos on Youtube. They're not the best source, but sometimes people weave together nice little shipping videos or simply put together plot pieces in such a way that your muse goes "YAY". (That's a very technical term). One that actually worked for me recently was listening to Doctor Who music (either Trock or from the show). I wrote an essay all day a few days ago and had the Doctor Who Season 5 Soundtrack blasting for my ears for hours on end. By the end, I typed one of the best Eleven posts (for another site obviously) that I have ever typed. I had been putting off those posts too, because I was having a bit of trouble with his voice. Fanfiction reading also helps! But it also seems like you're having troubles with the confines of RPing. That tends to happen when two people are winging it in a thread without any real planning. For me, if you plan out an intricate plot BEFORE hand, then the thread moves smoother with less 'just standing and talking' posts before someone throws in an alien or whatnot. Yeah! Hope that helps! Sorry for your Rp block

Thank you, Amy. I think I may do just that. I use that for my fanfictions so I think it may help. For this site when I started I was watching episodes with the other Admin and frankly it did help a lot since I was watching Series 1 for my Rose.
Yet it has been a while now since I’ve gone back and watched Series 1-5. I may even go ahead and download some of the Who soundtracks *I only have Vale Decem and The New Doctor.*
