I NEED ANOTHER STORY. SOMETHING TO GET OFF MY CHEST.I'M GONNA GIVE ALL MY SECRETS AWAY.TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. SOMETHING THAT WAS LIKE THOSE YEARS.------------------------------------------------------------------
Ianto was not at all pleased when John decided to mess with his hair but, once again, he couldn’t quite chastise John for that action. ”Don’t mess with the hair,” he said, more jokingly than seriously, as he took one hand off of the steering wheel momentarily to fix his hair as best as he could. He wasn’t trying to look his best for John’s sake but rather for his own.
No, it wasn’t a hardship at all but Ianto wasn’t about to admit that in front of John , although Ianto was sure that John could tell that ‘Eye Candy’ was slowly warming up to him—or, at least, slowly learning to tolerate the situation he found himself in. Would Jack really want Ianto even more if he slept with John? Where did the logic come into that one? Usually when someone cheated on their significant other the opposite would happen: their significant other wouldn’t want a thing to do with the cheater. Then again, Jack wasn’t exactly a normal man. Maybe Time Agents did things differently.
”Jack isn’t anything like you,” he said, ”You may know a lot more about him than I do but I’m not going to cheat on him just because it might lead to better sex or some kind of a crazy threesome.” Ianto had to admit, though, that a threesome was a rather pleasant idea…No, time to banish that thought. He wanted Jack all to himself, as selfish as that was.
”If by a good view you strictly mean seeing the whole city before my eyes, yes.” If by a good view, he meant the cute man sitting next to him, also a yes. Just because he had no intention of cheating on Jack, it didn’t mean he couldn’t look. John’s logic was irrefutable. ”Fine. If you promise not to kill anyone anywhere tonight, we can ride on the Ferris wheel if you want to.” Well, the only person in danger of being pushed and then falling off of the wheel was Ianto, because they’d be riding in the same compartment together, and Ianto dying would mess up things in Cardiff.

John raised an eyebrow. It seemed to be the expression that he was using most often now – Eye Candy had his eye rolling, John had his eyebrow cocking. John’s was cuter, in his own opinion, because rolling your eyes again and again just made you seem rather stuffy and boring. Not that he would say anything like that out loud, however, because that would give the game of making Eye Candy roll his eyes away, which would be no fun at all. “Don’t mess with the hair?” he mimicked disbelievingly. “I didn’t mess with it! Merely ruffled it. It’s cute when it’s ruffled. All soft and sweet to the touch as well.” And then he pouted (his second most used expression, apparantly) when Eye Candy reached up to pat it down again. Now...it wasn’t as cute. He’d have to re-ruffle it at some point.
Well, he had to be getting somewhere. There had been no eye rolls for quite a while, and some even joking speaking. Like the ‘Don’t mess with the hair’ thing, he thought. So Eye Candy must be warming up to him. Not that John hadn’t expected him to, because...well, he was good at this. Seeming nice and making people relax around him. Making them warm to him despite previous encounters. He enjoyed making other’s like him, it was useful if he ever needed help at a later date. Or if he was bored and wanted a quick shag, though that wasn’t as fun. John Hart was a likeable person until he ripped out off. Wasn’t that a nice thought.
He snorted. “I’ll say. Not anymore, no. This planet’s made him go soft. It’s bloody tamed him, all you apes. Running around and infecting him with your moron-ism...Oh, no offense. But hey, he was different. He was set to control me, and managed. Think of how bad he must have had to be to manage that.” He turned his head away, as if in though, but smirked at the wind mirror. He’d been telling the truth. This planet had tamed Jack. His Jack was hidden now, burried under years on this rock. But, when the ones he’d loved died, those walls would come down, and they’d have fun again. He was sure of it.
“And you’re locked in a pod with pretty people. On show for anyone to see. Doesn’t that just make you tingle?” he let out a giggle, not that he’d ever admit it to being a giggle, because that would make him seem...giggly. And he wasn’t. Well, unless he was high on something-or-other, in which case, he did go rather giggly. Was he high? He considered that for a moment, before deciding no. The drugs on this planet were as bad as the alcohol. They wouldn’t affect him even if he had taken any. He grinned brightly, almost angelically, turning back to Ianto. “Tell ya what, I’ll be good if they’re nice to me, ok? I’ll try hard for you if we gone on that. Promise.” And then he drew a cross shape with one finger over his chest, tracing lightly over the tight shirt he wore. “Cross my heart.”

Ianto was surprised that he didn’t puke at everything John had just said. He shook his head in disgust, even though what he really wanted to do was push John out of the car. And to think that he used to believe that Jack was completely hopeless when it came to flirting…John was a million times worse. Telling John to stop, though, would have been a waste of breath so Ianto let bygones be bygones. John liked his hair. Big deal.
He couldn’t stop the chuckle from escaping his lips at the thought of Jack ever being worse than John—that was simply ludicrous. But John didn’t seem like he was going to laugh with Ianto or give him any indication that that statement had been a complete joke. ”Hang on…You’re being serious, aren’t you?” he asked, once he had let it sink in. That was just going to be added to the long list of things he didn’t know about Jack but somehow managed to find out from others. ”I can’t imagine that,” he honestly admitted.
John giggling…that couldn’t be a good sign. ”Not at all,” he answered. The only person he’d ever want to be locked in anywhere with was Jack. Well, Ianto couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to pick a fight with John out of the blue tonight…He let out a small sigh. ”Okay, but if you do anything stupid, I’ll kill you myself—messed up timelines or no messed up timelines.” He couldn’t believe he was actually going to do this. Then again, it was time he start broadening his horizons and learn to have some fun, wasn’t it? Ianto wanted to show John that not all humans were as boring and moronic as he thought them to be.
Ianto was soon parking his car as near to the Ferris wheel as he could get. ”Remember what you promised me,” he said, getting out and pocketing his keys. He made his way into the short line. Ianto carefully observed his surroundings. Mainly couples were looking for a late night ride on the wheel. They seemed quite content to ignore John and him and completely dote on their lovers instead. That was fine with Ianto.
When they got up to the front of the line, Ianto pulled out his wallet and paid for them both. He knew John had the money but he was afraid that John would make some big fuss about the price or do just about anything to draw attention to himself. ”Would you be willing to have other people in the pod with you or would you like it to be a private one?” the ticket master asked, eyebrows perked up as he looked between the two of them. Of course he was going to assume they were together in every sense of the word.
”Just us two, please,” Ianto answered. He was just fine with him being the only one at risk falling to his death and no one could upset John if no one else was in there with them. ”Enjoy the ride,” the man said with a wink. Ianto stepped into the pod and took a seat. He wasn’t going to be enjoying this ride one bit.

Eye Candy chuckled? Ohh, he thought John was joking. He smirked. "Deadly serious, me," he said, nodding his head once. And then paused, considering that more deeply. Had Jack been worse than him? It depended on how you looked at it, really. John was wild, and always had been. Constantly at the Agency, his personality had been referred to as a tightly coiled bundle of arousal and adrenaline, held together by sex and drink and violence. He didn't understand morals, didn't understand other people weren't just objects or things to make feel nice. Jack though...understood all that. Perhaps that did make him more dangerous though...John didn't know. All he knew was that during the Time Loop, his entire being had become centered around Jack. "Parterners in every way, remember. Don't think that doesn't include killing and stealing and hurting as well as shagging." He said. And then chuckled, slightly darker than Eye Candy himself had.
So what if he was just going to make the human more stubborn about Jack? Perhaps he could get some eye rolls...or even, get Ianto to ask Jack questions when he trotted off back to Cardiff. Perhaps he could ask questions, get Jack to stop being such a uptight prick...and Jack could stop what was going to happen. Hey, if he got in touch with John's past self, before the bomb-on-his-wrist-bloody-hell-that-hurts thing, everything would be sorted. But damn it, that was too much of a plan. Ah well, worth a shot.
"Jack was the poster boy, y'know. Me, I was the pet. Trained to kill. He handled me. And you really can't imagine the ways the sucker invented to do that. Puts a little downer on the whole 'Light Jack' image, hero thing he's got going. Though, I do like the coat. It's a nice coat. All swishy." John did like old war coats, but he wouldn't nick Jack's. One, it was Jack, and two..he liked authentic ones. Authentic in that he had been the one to steal or kill for it. More fun that way.
"Yeah yeah, don't get your knickers in a twist. I'll be your good little boy," he said, winking at the other man as he got out, a faint leer on his lips at the 'good boy' part. Taking a moment to look around and get his bearings (paranoia helped him stay alive, after all), he took in the other people waiting with unconcealed interest. Pretty...pretty...pretty...alright...urgh, hell no! He shuddered, drawing his gaze sharply away from the last as Ianto reached the man selling the tickets, quickly moving to follow after him. Oh, Eye Candy had paid.
He sighed, as if put upon, before glancing at the Ticker Master. And at the wink. Oh, well, he was cute. He looked him up and down, not bothering to conceal his interest, and would have made a pass, if not for the hint in the man's voice about the 'enjoy your stay' part. And then just grinned, leaning over to purr to him. "I'm sure we will...Thank you ever so..." before turning stepping into the pod with a grin. Well, there was another choice for fun later on. He'd ask what time the human finished later. But first, they were still in sight...Which meant John pratically had an obligation to show the human that his impression of him and Eye Candy was correct...again. So he slipped in, lowering himself elegantly into the seat beside the human, before wrapping his arm around him, leaning to rest his head on Ianto's shoulder in a parody of a lover's embrace. "Oh, honey, you didn't have to do that," he said, in a cute little hurt-but-please voice, "I said this was going to be my treat for you."

I NEED ANOTHER STORY. SOMETHING TO GET OFF MY CHEST.I'M GONNA GIVE ALL MY SECRETS AWAY.TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. SOMETHING THAT WAS LIKE THOSE YEARS.------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack being a killer…Well, that one wasn’t too hard for Ianto to imagine. Jack was the one, after all, who had insisted that Lisa needed to be killed—that there was no way they could have helped her. Seeing all of the things he had seen working at both Torchwood One and Three, Ianto knew that nothing was impossible. If Jack had wanted to save Lisa, he could have saved Lisa. If he had taken the time to think things through, he would have come up with a way. But all Jack had seen was a murderous cyberwoman that needed to be destroyed. He didn’t see the Lisa Ianto had known…the beautiful woman she had been before being one of the chosen ones to be converted. And now she was gone forever…
…Ianto really needed to stop thinking about her right now. The last thing Ianto needed was for John to catch onto his melancholy thoughts because he might try to find out what was going on in Eye Candy’s head. Jack being a killer was definitely a melancholy thought. Thankfully, though, John had decided to mention his coat. That brought Ianto back into a realm of happiness because he had said the very same thing to Jack upon first meeting the man. ”It is a very nice coat,” he said, a small smile on his face as he reminiscenced about those simpler days.
He was perfectly fine with John flirting with another man. He was more than fine with it; he was ecstatic that John’s attention was focused on someone else. But could he in all honesty let John clutch onto the poor ticket master? If they went somewhere together tonight, who knew what would happen to that man? His death certainly wouldn’t mess up Jack’s life in Cardiff, and John had seemed the whole night to be rearing to kill someone.
Ianto was going to order John to sit across from him but the Captain’s arm was around his waist and his head on his shoulder. This was a big no-no but then Ianto caught the ticket master watching them. This was just a show. Ianto could leave with that. He ran a hand through John’s hair (wishing he could rip out some locks, making it as slow and painful as possible), putting on a fake smile. ”But, darling,” he said, ”You always do so much for me. It’s time that I returned the favor.” It was amazing how easy it was to act when the situation called for it.
He glanced back towards the ticket master who was busy conversing with the few people remaining in line. ”Please, get off of me,” he said, quietly, so there was no chance anyone in the nearby pods could hear. Wouldn’t want them to think there was a lover’s quarrel going on next door. ”He’s not watching us anymore.”

"Oh, it is. Was just thinking about nicking it...but I like authentism. Y'know, gettin' it and killing for it myself. Like my red jacket - Napoleon. Was a field trip that, and awful good fun." He was quite alright with telling stories, John was rather suprised to find. He was a liar, of course, and even he didn't know when he was telling the truth some of the time, and stories were wonderful ways to test that.
"Well, sort of a field trip. Was 'guiding' my newest parterner. Lost him. Always lost them...never kept one after Jack left." And of course...losing them had meant their death. Was the Agency's fault for trying to find someone else to control him, really. John didn't fall for more than one person.
Well, probably. He hadn't fallen for anyone else yet.
Oh goodie, Eye Candy was playing along. John carefully hid the smirk which showed on his face at that thought - it was nice to have fun with someone in a different manner than fighting, if he was honest...Or would be...for about five minutes, he estimated. Maybe six. All depended on how sweet Eye Candy actually was.
"I'll have to make it up to you," he said, before leaning in to murmer in his ear, his voice still loud enough to carry through to the ticket master just before the doors snicked closed. "Will make it up to you later, love. Promise you that."
He was still watching the Ticket man out of the corner of his eye, because...he was cute. Adorable. John was picturing him minus the cute little costume...although, perhaps with it as well, that would be lovely...And also ignoring Ianto's question to let him go, instead snuggling (though he would refuse to admit that he actually was doing that) closer, letting out a soft sigh at the feel of the hand in his hair.
"Won't." he said, pouting. He was trying not to smirk as well, or start laughing. Playing mind games...he was looking forward to the human's reaction, ever much so. And would be surprised if he wasn't pushed away, but pleased all the same. How could he not be?

I NEED ANOTHER STORY. SOMETHING TO GET OFF MY CHEST.I'M GONNA GIVE ALL MY SECRETS AWAY.TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. SOMETHING THAT WAS LIKE THOSE YEARS.------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing John said for the rest of the night could surprise Ianto. Killing for a piece of clothing fell into the realm of things no sane person would ever expect to hear come out of another person’s mouth but Ianto was quite used to hearing the unexpected. It was a good thing John wasn’t the suit wearing type and that Jack couldn’t die. But then John had to go and put a downer on the whole situation by mentioning his failures after Jack.
”So, Jack was your Mr. Right then?” he asked, more curious to try and figure out if John was capable of a finer emotion like love than anything else. ”You would think that everyone who’s eventually going to die would want to shy away from someone who’s going to live forever.” Of course, John was going to live longer than Ianto. Getting down to the skinny of it, he could see Jack wanting to spend his life with someone who was going to live a lot longer than the 75 to 85 years of most humans.
Ianto strained his fake smile even further when John whispered into his ear. Oh boy, was he going to need some major diary therapy tomorrow morning! Better yet, retcon was still a viable option. Forgetting about all of the doubts about Jack that had been planted into his mind tonight would be a much needed relief. Those doubts would slowly gnaw at him from the inside out, until he felt he had no choice but to confront Jack directly.
Now Ianto felt as if he had a young child clinging to him—a young child who was afraid their parent would disappear if they let go. Ianto hesitated for the slightest of seconds before pushing John away from him and sliding over to the other edge of the seat. ”Don’t ever do that again,” he demanded, straightening out his suit jacket. The Ferris wheel started to slowly move. Ianto stared out the window on his side, wondering if ignoring John would make the man just disappear off of the face of the earth forever.

Jack was your Mr. Right then? Hmm, had he been? John didn't actually believe in having a Mr Right, or a Mr Wrong. Just a hell of a load of Mr and Mrs and Masters and who know what else. Creatures with tentacles didn't like the human lables that several other races were so fond of. But it made John think.
"I don't think so...Don't believe in that, y'see. He was...more than that. He was my world. Still is. And he...knows it. Neither of us can help it either, or really want to. He'd have shot me if he did." he said brightly, laughing slightly. Jack had had plenty of chances to shoot him, after all.
Wait, why was he actually talking to this guy? Talking...the truth, talking...He frowned, chuckles gone. John wasn't someone for talking to anyone. Stories and lies, yes, but the truth? The plainful truth? No...How strange. He hoped to hell this planet wasn't affecting him.
"Pot. Meet Kettle. Black." He smirked, arching an eyebrow. Ianto would live a shorter amount of time than him, far shorter. John didn't know how old he was, after all. Not as old as Jack though...well, maybe now. After his second visit, after the thousand years underground...No.
He pursed his lips as he was shoved away, knowing full well he could fight back if he wanted to, hung on...and he might do, later. He wasn't sure yet. "Spoilsport. Ruin my fun, why don't you?" Can't promise that though, luv." He did jump slightly as the floor suddenly moved upwards beneath his feet, startled for a moment before glancing out of the window...and then moving closer to it, tilting his head to the side and pressing one hand against the glass, watching the river as they rose.
